In this specific book I think it was handled in a way that hasn’t worked for me, since at no time I felt the “chemistry” between the characters, rather I felt it very forced, as if they would have to fight for some reason so that the plot can move forward. To begin the theme of the book is based on a relationship that begins with both main characters hating each other, is a kind of the hate-to-love relationship, this kind of romance in general is fun doesn’t bother me at all and although it’s cliche I think it can be handled in a fun and engaging way. So I’ll only comment on some points which have made me not want to continue with it. I’ve read 100 pages of the book, not much. I have also been reading a lot of fantasy lately and I was really looking forward to reading some lighter and more fun contemporary, so yeah, I thought that this book would be perfect for this moment. I was very curious about The Hating Game especially for the great hype that surrounds it, it’s a book that here at Goodreads has 4.25 stars in its general rating and that is amazing, it means that many people have given 5 or 4 stars, I’ve seen that it’s the undisputed favorite of many people who I love from the community, bloggers and booktubers, and this was something that caught my attention and I wanted to try it. I don’t give Rating to books that I don’t finish, out of respect for the author, I really feel that it isn’t in my right to rate a book which I haven’t read in its entirety, personally I think it would be unfair I don’t want to start a kind of war with those who love this book, this is just my opinion and I’ll always be as respectful as I can. But what has happened to me with this specific book is that I just hate it and I can’t continue with it Or in other cases I just don’t feel connected to the plot or with some character and I get bored so I also dismiss it for the moment. I really like to finish the books I read and in general when I DNF a book can be for many reasons, it has happened to me that I don’t feel in the mood for that specific book or genre, but anyway I think I’ll read it at some other time.
